[Tokyo/Tanashi Shrine] Tori-no-ichi Festival, chrysanthemums and ginkgo trees

Tanashi Shrine is located in Nishitokyo City, Tokyo. The main hall and worship hall are designated as tangible cultural properties by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and you can see the magnificent carvings by Shimamura Toshiaki, a carpenter from the Edo period! Tanashi Shrine holds the Tori-no-ichi festival every November. Large rakes are set up at the torii gate, and rake shops line the approach to the shrine. There are also outdoor stalls, and since it is the time of the Shichi-Go-San festival, the shrine grounds are more crowded than usual.
