First visit to Koshien: A baseball night filled with dreams and regrets

I grew up playing baseball in Taiwan, and Koshien is like a holy temple to me. It is not only the ultimate stage for high school players, but also the eternal dream in the heart of a baseball boy. This time when I came to Japan, I finally set foot in this land full of history and passion, and witnessed with my own eyes a showdown between the Hanshin Tigers and the Hiroshima Carp. On that day, Koshien was packed with 47,000 passionate fans. The waves of yellow and black rose and fell with the rhythm of the cheering, and the atmosphere was so warm and touching. This is not just a game, it is a city festival and the fans' belief. The game was tense from the first inning. Hiroshima scored first with a home run, and Hanshin fell behind all the way. It wasn't until the seventh inning that things finally turned around. Consecutive hits tied the score to 2:2. The audience cheered as if hope was just around the corner. But at the critical moment, a double play interrupted all the momentum, and the remaining bases on second and third bases returned in vain. The fans' cheers came to an abrupt end, leaving only murmurs of regret. In the top of the ninth inning, Hiroshima scored two more runs and the game ended with a score of 4:2. This night is a night of passion and regret. As a Taiwanese, it was my first time watching a baseball game at Koshien. What I felt was not only the changes in the score, but also the depth and richness of baseball culture. It was a game in which we lost the score but won the memories.
