At the 30th Street entrance stands the dramatic honeycomb-like Vessel, nicknamed the “Big Pinecone.” Once closed due to safety concerns, it’s now reopened with safety nets and offers elevator access—though not always guaranteed, as I found out the hard way! At the 14th Street end, Little Island floats like a modern art sculpture above the Hudson, with its lush landscaping and whimsical design.
