Hodosan Shrine⛩️

Hodosan Shrine is another landmark of Nagatoro. It is located at the foot of Mt. Hodosan and was built in 110 AD. It has a very long history. Hodosan Shrine is famous for praying to prevent fire and theft and to resolve various disasters. In addition, the name has the meaning of auspiciousness and good omen, so the Japanese have a tradition - every year they will visit Hodosan Shrine during the New Year to take the good intention of "climbing the treasure mountain" and let the new year go smoothly, safe and auspicious.
