Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine! Climb the stairs until your legs give out!

The Kumano Nankai Gobo bus can actually go all the way to the parking lot of Nachi Taisha, but most people prefer to start from Daimonzaka, because the road leading to the shrine is lush and ancient, like a quiet and sacred way to worship. There are some shops near Daimonzaka that provide clothing rental services from the Heian period, but I gave up the idea when I saw those tourists wearing tabi and wooden clogs walking on the stone steps with difficulty. After all, the Kumano Kodo is an ancient mountain road for worship. The stone steps are uneven and slippery, so it is left to young people with plenty of energy to challenge. There is a huge "Okasu", or camphor tree, on the right side of the Nachi Taisha Shrine. The trunk is hollow inside, but it is still lush. On the left is a statue of Yatagarasu, which is dedicated to the messenger of Kumano Okami, called "Gokenhikosha". And behind Nachi Taisha is the famous "Seigantoji Temple".
