[Muroran] Muroran, the city of coal and railways

#0yentravel First, we visited the old Muroran Station building. The wooden, classic station building had a calm atmosphere and a nostalgic warmth. Railway materials were also on display inside, giving us a glimpse into the history of Muroran's transportation. Muroran (as are many cities in Hokkaido, not just Muroran) is a town that prospered through coal, and although it is now quite deserted, it seems that it was once very lively. After that, we went to a local udon restaurant and took a break with a bowl of fragrant dashi soup. The simple yet robust flavor gently soothed the fatigue of our journey. Time passed slowly in the calm atmosphere of a port town.
