Wat Sila Asan

Wat Sila Asan, also known as "Phu Phra," is an ancient temple of historical and cultural significance located in Chaiyaphum Province. Within the temple grounds, there is a rock shelter featuring carvings of nine Buddha statues, including the prominent "Phra Chao Ong Tue," a large black sandstone Buddha statue. This statue measures 5 feet in width and 7 feet in height, seated in a diamond meditation posture, and has been revered by the people of Chaiyaphum and nearby areas for generations. Nearby, there are seven additional Buddha statues carved around sandstone pillars. All of these statues are ancient and exhibit the artistic style of U-Thong Buddha images, dating back to the 18th-19th Buddhist centuries. 📍 Located in Na Sieo Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chaiyaphum Province.
