A Morning Walk Up The Mount, A Must Do In Tauranga NZ

During a roadtrip around the North Island of NZ we stopped for a night in Tauranga, mainly for the beach and the mount. The beach itself was beautiful and very calm, perfect for swimming - during the day there is a lifeguard on duty so it’s perfect for families. Along the front there are also cafes, restaurants and ice cream parlours - perfect for your daily needs. We grabbed a coffee and a cake and chilled for a while on the beach. At the end of the beach is the mount, an infamous hill with a lookout around the area. We did a morning hike to the top to take in the surroundings, it took us about an hour round trip and is a very doable hike for all abilities You get great views right up the coast both ways and you get to really appreciate the stunning natural beauty of NZ. Obviously the eco system of NZ is very fragile so please respect it, stay on the paths and don’t litter.
