The two lakes lie parallel to each other, bordered by a narrow point, giving them the feel of "twin lakes." We drove along Lake Hawea, centering around Wanaka, and experienced a profound and majestic charm that was distinct from the blue waters of Wanaka. Lake Hawea in September was even more tranquil and less crowded, allowing us to truly experience the pristine beauty of nature. Thanks to the "TravelSupport," we were able to leisurely explore this hidden gem by rental car. If you visit Wanaka, I highly recommend exploring Lake Hawea as well.
