Mengzi Yuhuang Pavilion - A Taoist Holy Land in Southeast Yunnan

We first went to Mengzi Yuhuang Pavilion, a national key cultural relic protection unit, located on the north side of Nanhu Park. Yuhuang Pavilion was first built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, with a history of nearly 400 years and a total area of 393 square meters. The main building of Yuhuang Pavilion is a three-eave Xieshan-style roof, with a square shape, five steps, one set of corner brackets and column head brackets, two sets of Ping Sheng brackets, all with two jumps, with large materials and simple shapes, which is a typical Ming Dynasty architectural style. There are also two pavilions on the east and west sides of the main building of Yuhuang Pavilion, which were first built during the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, both with two-eave Xieshan-style roofs, with a combination of beam-lifting and beam-supporting structures. One is called Dizang Hall, and the other is called Guanyin Hall. The three buildings, together with their platforms, form a magnificent and exquisite ancient architectural complex, which is spectacular.
