Return to Sichuan: San Su Ci

San Su Ci is located in Shagu Xing, west of Meishan City. It is the former residence of Su Xun, Su Shi, and Su Zhe, three famous writers of the Northern Song Dynasty. The residence was converted into a temple in the Yuan Dynasty, destroyed by fire in the late Ming Dynasty, and rebuilt in 1665 during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. After years of expansion, it now covers over 100 mu. It is the most famous temple and classical garden in Sichuan, and a cultural mecca for scholars and writers to pay homage to the three Sus.
