#getgoing2025 The Hobbiton movie set is the actual set that was used for the Hobbit movie and can be found approximately 2 hours drive south of New Zealand. The attraction is open every day of the year (9-5) and the ticket price is 140 New Zealand dollars. The tour starts at the cafe/gift shop which has outdoor space, WiFi and toilets. A bus leaves for the set every 10 minutes and that is when you are introduced to your guide for the day. There is information about the attraction being played on the way and the tour is available in other languages, such as Mandarin. Around the tour, the guide gives information about each of the sites and allows for pictures to be taken. The tour ends at the pub with a free drink for everybody and an opportunity for further food and beverages to be purchased. A bus then guides you back to the entrance. The ambience is very orderly and quiet as guests want to hear information about the movie set. However you are free to take pictures and move around. I would recommend this attraction because of its beauty and you do not need to have watched the movies to enjoy it. The tour lasts for 2.5 hours and the morning tours seem to be less busy.
