Fish market - must visit in Marseille

#getgoing2025 This is "the place" . Never forget this one is 26 CENTURIES old . This is where all started. Marseille was built from there, and naturally expanded up to its natural boundaries, the mountains . The Vieux Port is where it happens, where the crowd gather for any event to celebrate. If you are in Marseille on a Friday (and other days but not as big an event), DO NOT miss the fish market in the Vieux Port. It is amazing. The vendors are willing for you to use your camera as long as you don't block trade because people in the area come to the port to buy fish. It amazing to see the live fish being prepared and sliced for customers. I love the chatter and the hectic atmosphere. Do not worry - fresh fish does not stink. It is a wonderful colourful event. If you are too late because you slept in from all that wine and food last night, then walk around looking at the boats, sail ships, fishers and tourists. There is always something to see. Stand under the big mirror and see the world upside down. So much fun!!
