Strolling along Macau's Rua da Felicidade, this long and historic street feels like a corridor of time, with every step leading to an ancient memory. The buildings on both sides are mostly old shops and residences with a blend of Chinese and Portuguese styles, their weathered walls telling tales of past prosperity. The iron flower decorations on the window sills stand as silent guardians, witnessing the passage of time. Occasionally, a gentle breeze blows through the alleys, bringing with it a faint scent of sandalwood and the unique simplicity of the old street. The old shops along the road are still in business, selling traditional pastries and antique stores preserving a sense of nostalgia, making one stop and look. At the end of the street, I encountered a few local elders sitting on benches, chatting and laughing, their leisurely expressions seemingly taking me back to a slower-paced era without hustle and bustle. Rua da Felicidade may not be dazzlingly glamorous, but its simplicity and sincerity touch the heart. Here, the busy footsteps gradually slow down, quietly experiencing the rare calmness and warmth in the passage of time. This moment becomes the quietest yet most profound part of the journey.
