Macau Peninsula

The Macau Peninsula (Portuguese: Península de Macau) is one of the three parts that make up China's Macau. It is the main residential area for Macau residents and the earliest developed area in Macau, with a history of over 400 years. The Macau Historic Centre, located on the Macau Peninsula, was officially listed in the World Cultural Heritage List in 2005. The Macau Peninsula was originally an island, but later became a peninsula connected to the mainland due to the sediment brought by the upstream of the Xijiang River, forming a north-south sandbank.
