Liuzhou's Version of Jiuzhaigou | Longtan Park

The Dalongtan Scenic Area is located in the southern part of Liuzhou city, just three kilometers from the city center, covering a planned area of approximately 544 hectares. It is a large scenic zone that combines karst landscapes, the cultural charm of southern China's ethnic minorities, and subtropical karst plant scenery. One of Liuzhou's "Eight Sages," Zhang Moyashi, inscribed a poem on the cliffs: "Clear springs emerge from the mountain, a hundred streams flow through the woods. If the cold clouds could cradle me, there’d be no need to seek Penglai." The "Longtan Wonderland" resembles the mythical Penglai paradise. Longtan Park features lush forests and encircling mountains that form a natural barrier. The 24 peaks, including Wohu Mountain (Crouching Tiger), Meinv Peak (Beauty), and Kongque Mountain (Peacock), each have unique shapes, towering between one lake (Mirror Lake), two pools (Longtan and Leitan), and four valleys. At the base of Leishan's cliffs, a crystal-clear spring gushes forth, forming the ancient "Longtan" (Dragon Pool), also known as "Leitang." Just a short distance away, "Leitan" (Thunder Pool) connects underground with it. The clear pool water cascades down the "Eight Dragons Spraying Snow Dam" into Mirror Lake, then meanders like a winding dragon through the park.
