Tips for Visiting Fenjiezhou Island

If you're planning a trip to Boundary Island, make sure to visit on a sunny day to fully enjoy the stunning glassy sea. Purchase your boat tickets in advance at the seafood market for 103 RMB each. If you're prone to seasickness, take medication beforehand, as the boat ride is only 15 minutes but can still be uncomfortable for some, especially children. The beauty of Boundary Island's jelly-like sea depends heavily on the weather. On a sunny day, the scenery is breathtaking, but on a cloudy day, you might find it underwhelming compared to even a local river. The island has a commercial vibe, with popular family activities like feeding stingrays and visiting the ocean theater. Feeding stingrays costs 80 RMB per person, and you can buy a small bucket with two fish. At Fuli Ocean World, 35 RMB gets you 15 small squid to feed the stingrays, offering a longer experience. While the island's ocean theater is more basic and natural, it doesn't compare to the higher-priced dolphin shows at Fuli Ocean World. The sightseeing bus on the island costs 40 RMB per person and includes a cup of coffee, which can be a convenient option. However, I walked the entire island with my 6-year-old daughter without feeling tired. If you're bringing a stroller, note that some paths are suitable, but uphill areas are not. For families with babies, the sightseeing bus is recommended. Regarding accommodation, we initially considered staying on the island but were deterred by reviews mentioning the primitive environment and strong winds.
