In Libo, Guizhou, besides seeing the green gem on the Earth's belt, this Yaoshan Ancient Village hidden deep in the mountains shook my soul away with a single performance! Instant god status! Everyone rush in!! 🔥 My immersive experience report Not actors! It’s life! All the performers are indigenous villagers! Fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters—they are either performing or reenacting the true life of their ancestors! Hunting, farming, rituals, courtship... that simplicity and sincerity can be felt through the air! Instantly transported thousands of years back! Fire! Is faith! Is soul! As night falls, when the huge torches are lit, the firelight illuminates the ancient Yao houses and the determined faces of the performers... that scene is sacred and wild! The bonfire segment is the climax of the entire show, the dance around the bonfire is full of power, as if it can dispel all darkness, making my blood boil and giving me goosebumps all over! Cow horn and bronze drum, sounds that touch the heart! The deep and shocking sound of the cow horn blows, combined with the mysterious rhythm of the bronze drum... this sound strikes the crown of the head! It feels like a conversation with ancient ancestors. Paired with their unique Yao language chanting, the atmosphere is fully charged! A feast for the ears! The costumes are stunning! Full marks for details! The White Trousers Yao costumes are so distinctive! Especially the two-piece Yao costumes for women, simple yet full of primal beauty. The men’s white trousers and leg bindings, paired with hunting guns and cow horns, are incredibly cool! Under the lights, silver ornaments and embroidery sparkle, every frame is wallpaper-worthy! The ending hits the tear point hard! At the end of the performance, the actors slowly walk toward the audience holding fire seeds... that reverence for fire, the praise for life, the adherence to tradition, combined with heartfelt music, my tears were really worthless! Flowing nonstop! So touching! 📌 Practical tips Performance time: Usually at 7:00 PM Best seats: Arrive early! Sit in the front row center or slightly to the side for a stronger immersive feeling and to clearly see the actors’ expressions and details. 📸 Must-bring items ✅ Mosquito repellent! (Lots of mosquitoes in the mountains) ✅ A light jacket (it might get cool at night) ✅ Fully charged camera/phone (for crazy photo and video shooting!) 🚌 Transportation: Very convenient from Libo County or Xiaoqikong Scenic Area, taxi or charter car both work. 💡 Bonus: Don’t rush to leave after the show! You might get a chance to take photos with the performers in their splendid costumes! They are super nice! 📌 Real feelings This is definitely the most "authentic" live performance I’ve ever seen! No fancy embellishments, relying on real people, sincere emotions, profound cultural heritage, and striking primal aesthetics! I couldn’t calm down for a long time after watching it, deeply respecting Yao culture! If you come to Libo and don’t watch this show at Yaoshan Ancient Village, you will really regret it!
