Dinner at Shito Monogatari (formerly Ganbare Okonomiyaki) in Horikawa Sanjo, Kyoto

#KyotoGourmet #KyotoTourism #CoupleTrip #GourmetTrip #WinterTrip "Shito Monogatari" is an okonomiyaki restaurant near the entrance to Kyoto Horikawa Sanjo Shopping Street. It used to be called "Ganbare Okonomiyaki" and is quite a famous restaurant. When you enter the restaurant, the first thing you notice is the amount of autographed paper covering the entire wall to the right. You will be overwhelmed by the amount of autographed paper from really amazing people such as Takayuki Yamada, Koji Yamamoto, and others. Looking to the left, there are reptile tanks lined up along the entire wall, and you can see many rare types of reptiles. Even when it's crowded, you never get bored of looking at the reptile tanks, including white frogs and small frogs. I wasn't very interested in reptiles until now, but when I started watching reptiles here recently, I started to like reptiles because they were surprisingly cute, such as turtles and frogs. There are lots of children's toys on the floor at the entrance, so it's child-friendly...a rare sight these days. Under the sign on the wall to the right, there is an astonishing amount of figurines lined up, which may be the owner's hobby. They offer okonomiyaki from four cities: Kyoto, Tokyo, Osaka, and Hiroshima, as well as yakisoba and many other dishes, all of which are very delicious and reasonably priced. There are also many children's dishes, as well as original menus and sweets, so people of all ages can enjoy themselves. At the end of the meal, they served us hot Japanese tea, which was a touching touch of Kyoto-style thoughtfulness. They also had okonomiyaki and gratin with oysters, which I couldn't finish as I was full, so I'll definitely try them next time.
