This key figure who was active 150 years ago was one of the driving forces behind the turning point of Japan's destiny. Sakamoto Ryoma was assassinated in Kyoto at the age of 32, at Omi-ya, Kawaramachi. During his lifetime, he often visited Misaki Shrine with reformers such as Shintaro Nakaoka. At that time, this was the residence of the Tosa domain in Kyoto, and it was the Tosa representative office in Kyoto. Therefore, Misaki Shrine is also called Tosa Inari. The main gods here are Kuraido Tamami and Ishiei-jin. From fire prevention and theft prevention, farming, commercial prosperity to the prosperity of the civil engineering and metal industries, it is considered a shrine with a relatively wide defense range. Because of its efficacy, the Tosa domain even opened a road for worshippers to enter and exit. However, after the Meiji Restoration, the Tosa domain's Beijing office was sold and the shrine was forced to move to its current location. The current shrine was built in 1913 with funds raised by believers. There are photos of Sakamoto Ryoma hanging in the shrine, and there is also a sculpture of him in the courtyard.
