Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, Kurume One-Day Tour

To go to Tenmangu Shrine, you need to get off at Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station. We have purchased the sunq pass, so we took the bus. The vermilion arc-shaped roof of the ancient building that came into view echoed with Tenmangu Shrine, and immediately won the love of my family. The family of four strolled in the Dazaifu Tenmangu shopping street. In addition to Umega Cake and Starbucks, we noticed that the stores have changed a lot. It was fun to walk and stop and look. Then we strolled to Tenmangu Shrine to pay homage. The blooming cherry blossoms and plum blossoms, plus the occasional sunshine, the blue sky, the red bridge, the pink cherry blossoms and the white plum blossoms are very beautiful. At this time, the sky is cloudy and light snow occasionally falls, which is very romantic! Then we took a bus to Futsukaichi Station and took the JR to Kurume Station. The first stop was Kurume Castle Ruins. There is no castle tower or palace here, only the remains of the castle stone wall, the Sasayama Shrine built in Meiji 10 and the Shoichi Daijoin Inari Shrine. The Sasayama Shrine is dedicated to the Arima family, and the Arima Family Memorial Hall is also set up in the castle ruins (closed on the day). This place is not as spectacular as the Morioka Castle Ruins and is sparsely populated. We also met two Hong Kong tourists. It is very suitable for children to play snowball fights in the castle ruins. After playing enough, we walked along the Chikugo River to Suitengu Shrine (Sohongu Shrine). Founded in 1190, Suicheongu Shrine is the patron saint of smooth sea transportation and is also known as the god of safe childbirth. Suitengu Shrine has a quiet environment and covers a large area. In addition to the main hall, there are also Maki Shrine, Water Shrine, Akihabara Shrine, Gardenia Nest (くちなしのや) and Maki Izumi-no-mori Memorial Hall. I also found that there is a riverbank with a ferry terminal and charming riverside scenery. Many Japanese also come here to pray for their families! If you happen to pass by here accidentally like we did, remember to come and pay your respects! I heard that there are four things you must do when you come to Kurume Station: appreciate the stained glass in the station (available), listen to the clock singing (available), visit the Suitengu Shrine to pray for peace (available), and visit the Sasayama Shrine (available). We spent 3 hours to unlock Kurume Station, and also visited Sakamoto Shigejiro's home and ate KFC, which was an unexpected gain on this trip~ #2024TravelReview
