The Great Gingko Of Kumamoto Castle

#newyearnewtrip Just right outside of the Kumamoto castle honmaru palace, one is able to spot the famous photo spot called the great gingko of kumamoto castle. Come here during the autumn period, and this giant gingko tree would be entirely covered with beautiful lush yellow leaves, attracting locals and tourists to come take pictures with it. This giant gingko tree, however, has a history within the castle grounds. It was planted by kato kiyamasa, who was the castle builder then, and the tree was eventually destroyed by a fire. Amazingly, the tree began growing again from the burnt tree stump and today this gingko tree still stands tall and grow well in front of the Kumamoto castle. Do check it out!
