The museum of Konya

#celebrateit Located in central Turkey, Konya is a town known as the birthplace of the Mevlevi sect, a school of Islamic mysticism. There are many mosques with delicate sculptures and mosaic tiles built during the Seljuk period. The "Mevrana Museum" with its impressive green tower in the centre of town is the mausoleum of the founder of the Mevlevi Order and is now open to the public as a museum. In addition, the ruins "Chatar Hoyuk" in the suburbs of Konya are the remains of a Neolithic settlement and were registered as a World Heritage Site in 2012.
