🇯🇵 Amida Buddha at Kotoku-in Temple

#tokyo Kotoku-in Temple is a Buddhist temple located in Kamakura. This temple is known for its iconic bronze statue of Amida Buddha, also known as the Great Buddha of Kamakura. We were impressed by this huge statue of Buddha (after which we learnt that it stands at a height of 13.35 meters and weighs around 121 tons). Standing besides it made us feel so short, though we were highly amazed by it. The temple grounds also include other smaller statues, as well as a small museum with information about the history of the temple and the Great Buddha statue. #japan
