Wat Salak

#Beautiful temple coordinates Wat Salak, one of the legends of King Taksin the Great Wat Salak is located in Tambon Tha Som, Khao Saming District, Trat Province. During the time when King Taksin led his army to Chanthaburi to gather troops to save the nation when Ayutthaya was lost in 2310, during the journey, a monsoon occurred. King Taksin therefore entered Ao Ban Salak with his soldiers to escape the monsoon. Then, he set up a pavilion here until the monsoon subsided, and then led his army to travel by boat to Chanthaburi. Later, the villagers considered it a sacred place and an auspicious place for the village of Salak Kha Mu (Ban Salak). The villagers therefore worked together to build a temple and a church at the residence of King Taksin in the late Ayutthaya period, which still remains in Ban Salak to the present day. Another highlight of this temple is the temple's vihara (old church). Inside, there is a Buddha statue in the meditation posture, a pattern of jasmine flowers, and a footprint of the Lord Buddha. In addition, the 12-cornered pagoda, 3 of which are where the ashes of the soldiers who saved the nation who died are kept. To honor the brave soldiers who saved the nation when Ayutthaya was lost for the second time. Currently, there is a new church built in the reign of King Rama V nearby, next to the old church. It is a white church with two Buddha statues on both sides, front and back. The church is decorated with beautiful, graceful stucco.
