About Waimea Canyon on Kauai

#OverseasTravelRecord In December 2024, I rented a car at the airport and went to Waimea Canyon. The suburbs are one lane in each direction, and it's pretty scary because you have to pass oncoming cars at 55 to 60 miles (around 90 km). Once you enter the mountain roads of Waimea Canyon, the road is paved, but there are sinkholes in places, and some cars have come off the road and stopped along the way. The rental car was $90 including gas for a compact car, and about $150 per person for a tour bus.
