A Must-Visit for Train Enthusiasts: Hamasen Railway Cultural Park

The Hamasen Railway Cultural Park in Kaohsiung has unveiled a "giant banana" installation as large as a train and is hosting a "Banana Party." The event features a selection of local agricultural products, banana-themed desserts, and a special appearance by Japan's Mojiko mascot "Banana Man" along with members of the Banana Hawking Association. They will present an authentic Japanese-style "banana hawking" performance. Additionally, a variety of family-friendly shows will take place throughout the event. Hamasen was historically a key hub for trade in Taiwan. In the 1960s, it became a major exporter of bananas to Japan, with bananas from across the country transported via rail to Kaohsiung Port for export. To celebrate the park's recent upgrades, a giant banana installation has been created, highlighting the unique characteristics of Kaohsiung's port and its agricultural heritage.
