Originally heading to Jinyun for Xiandu, I unexpectedly stumbled upon this ancient village entirely built of stone. Coincidentally, I fell in love with the same place all over again. Has anyone seen the old cooking drama "A Love for Dilemma"? Back then, I was captivated by the female lead's home in the series, marveling at how it resembled a paradise on earth. By sheer luck, I found myself in this very place I had yearned for years ago—and it didn’t disappoint. Yanxia Stone Village is renowned for its stone dwellings, where stone houses, bridges, pathways, and ancient mills blend seamlessly into the landscape. It’s one of Zhejiang’s best-preserved and most concentrated traditional mountain stone villages, hailed as the "No. 1 Stone Village in Jiangnan." On the day I visited, rain added to the charm, with mist weaving through the village, enhancing its tranquility. The village’s narrow, winding stone alleys and bridges arching over babbling streams create a timeless scene. Villagers maintain traditional lifestyles—weaving bamboo crafts, making fermented tofu, and tending crops—while wisps of cooking smoke rise gently into the air. Light rain pattered on moss-covered stones, and the centuries-old tree at the village entrance stood as a silent witness to the passage of time.
