Wangmu Pavilion|Legend has it that the Queen Mother of the West descended to the mortal world ◆|Wangmu Pavilion is located in Nanchi Park in Rencheng District of Jining City, where Nanchi, also known as Wangmu Pavilion Lake, was originally called 'Ancient Nanchi'. ◆|Wangmu Pavilion is the core building of Nanchi Park, originally built during the Kaiyuan and Tianbao years of the Tang Dynasty. The name comes from the meaning 'looking west to the Yaochi, descending east to the Queen Mother', implying that one can look westward to see the Yaochi and imagine the mythological descent of the Queen Mother of the West to the human world. After being destroyed in wars, what we see now is a reconstruction in recent years, and visitors can exchange their ID cards for free tickets to ascend the pavilion. ◆ |During the prosperous Tang Dynasty, this was a scenic spot in Jining State. Li Bai lived here for many years, and Du Fu also stopped by. The two met here, strolled together around Nanchi, and there is a 'Li Du Meeting' sculpture by the lake. Emperors Kangxi and Qianlong composed poems and inscribed calligraphy for Nanchi during their southern tours.
