National Day trip to Xitang.

During the National Day holiday, I was filled with longing and expectation for the Jiangnan water town and stepped into the picturesque Xitang Ancient Town. As soon as I entered Xitang, I was attracted by the unique water town style. The ancient buildings with white walls and black tiles are arranged in a scattered manner on both sides of the river. The antique stone bridges span the clear river and connect the streets on both sides. Walking on the bluestone road, it seems to have traveled back to the ancient times. Walking along the river, the wooden boat in the river slowly rowed past, and the boatman shook the scull skillfully, making a rhythmic sound. The shops and inns by the river are dazzling, and the merchants enthusiastically solicit business, and the cries are endless. I walked into a specialty snack shop and tasted the local famous food, such as Guan Lao Tai stinky tofu, salt and pepper pumpkin, and sauce burst mud snails, etc. The unique taste is endless. Xitang during the day is very lively, and tourists shuttle between various alleys and attractions, feeling the historical charm of the ancient town. I visited the Wadang Museum and admired the exquisite Wadang art; in front of the ancient stage, I seemed to see the lively scene of the opera performance in the past; and the narrow stone skin alley, the narrowest place is only 0.8 meters, people have to sigh The architectural wisdom of the ancients. With the advent of night, Xitang presents another charming scene. The big red lanterns on the corridors on both sides of the river are lit up one after another, decorating the entire ancient town like a dream. The bar street starts to lively, and the melodious singing and cheerful laughter are intertwined. I chose to take a small boat and slowly drift in the river, admiring the night view on both sides. Some people on the shore are putting river lights, and the little candlelight is going down the river with people's good wishes; some are tasting food and enjoying this comfortable time. In these two days in Xitang, I also met some enthusiastic and friendly local residents and tourists. They told me the story and legend of Xitang, which gave me a deeper understanding of this ancient town. The pace of life here is slow, their faces are filled with happy and satisfied smiles, and people feel the beauty of life. However, there are many tourists in Xitang during the National Day, which also brings some inconvenience to the tour. Some places in the scenic area are too crowded, and you need to queue up to enter some popular attractions. But this did not affect my love for Xitang at all, but made me cherish every moment here. The short trip to Xitang is over, and I set off on my way home with full of good memories. The picturesque water town scenery, delicious food, and enthusiastic people are all deeply imprinted in my mind. I look forward to having the opportunity to come to Xitang again in the future and feel its unique charm.
