Today I would like to introduce the Itami Jun Museum, located in Hanlin-eup on the west side of the main island. The museum is dedicated to the Korean-Japanese architect Jun Itami, who used architecture to dialogue with nature, creating minimalist yet emotional spaces. The building is dominated by gray and black. After entering from the lobby on the first floor, go up the oval-shaped staircase to reach the exhibition area. The works and publications of Jun Itami are exhibited here, as well as a permanent exhibition introducing his representative architectural works. It is a great place to calm down and appreciate them slowly, letting your thoughts settle. At the end of the tour, you will walk back to the rest area on the first floor and be served snacks and refreshments. The entire museum itself is like a microcosm of his architectural philosophy: warm exposed concrete, softly scattered light, quietly blending with the earth, silent but profound. If you like architecture or art, you will love this place. Although the exhibition space is not large, it is really beautiful.
