The setting is gorgeous, the grounds are fantastic. We ate dinner here and also had their high tea, and everything we ate was delicious. They have a great selection of whisky you can try in their bar as well. And every member of staff that we came into contact with was just so welcoming and wonderful. It's really a great place to come to unwind. But all of that being said, I cannot give this 5 stars because our room was insanely stuffy and hot. I understand this is a historical property and their options are probably limited when it comes to cooling. But considering we were there when the weather was in the low 60s, I was shocked at how hot our room was. We opened both windows, and they do provide a small fan that can be used, but it didn't really properly cool down until we had run the fan for 2 days. We barely slept the first night because of how hot it was, it almost like sleeping in an attic. I'm not sure if the rooms on the lower level are any cooler, but if you plan to stay here, just be aware that this could be a possibility.
