"Omijinja Shrine" Omijinja Shrine is popularly known as Hyuga no Ise-sama. Omijinja Shrine, built on a pillar-shaped rock with a spectacular view overlooking the ocean, was once called Amaterasu Omikami Shrine, and it is said that Ninigi-no-Mikoto, the grandson of the sun goddess, worshipped his ancestor Amaterasu Omikami and prayed for peace.
