Hunyuan County. Hunyuan Confucian Temple. Hunyuan Confucian Temple covers an area of 17,400 square meters. It was first built during the Liao Dynasty and has been renovated and expanded in successive dynasties. Facing south, along the central axis from south to north are the Dacheng Archway, Pan Pond and Pan Bridge, Ji Gate, Dacheng Hall, Minglun Hall, Jingyi Pavilion, and Zunjing Pavilion. The layout of Hunyuan Confucian Temple is complete and grand in scale. The Dacheng Hall retains the architectural features of the Jin and Yuan periods, making it of high value. Hunyuan Confucian Temple is a ritual architectural complex for worshiping Confucius.
