Shizhongshan Martyrs' Shrine

Originally named Zhaozhong Shrine, it was built in the eighth year of the Xianfeng reign of the Qing Dynasty (1858) by the decree of Emperor Xianfeng, upon the request of Zeng Guofan and Peng Yulin, to honor the naval officers and soldiers who died in battle. After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, it was renamed Martyrs' Shrine. The shrine is divided into the front hall and the rear hall. The front hall is dedicated to the officers who died in battle, while the rear hall is dedicated to the naval soldiers of the Chu army who died in battle. In front of the shrine, there are two majestic stone lions.
