Located at the junction of Hunan, Chongqing, and Guizhou in western Hunan, there is a place called Biancheng, which is said to be the background for Shen Congwen's novel 'Border Town'. It is just an inconspicuous small river that spans three provinces, giving birth to two famous scenic spots. One is called Tea Tuo Ancient Town, which belongs to Huayuan County in Hunan; the other is called Hong'an Ancient Town, which belongs to Xiushan County in Chongqing. The two towns face each other across the river, not only connected by a bridge but also featuring a special 'Lala Ferry' to help tourists cross, so if you want to visit Biancheng, whether you choose Tea Tuo Ancient Town or Hong'an Ancient Town, it's actually the same thing.
