#HongKongHiking Dadong Mountain, also known as Lantou Mountain, is famous for its magnificent sunset views and the silvery-white Miscanthus covering the hillsides. When autumn comes, the Miscanthus grass all over the mountains sways in the wind, reflecting the golden sunset, forming a picturesque scene, attracting countless photography enthusiasts and couples. Although climbing Dadong Mountain is steep and requires a certain amount of physical strength, all your fatigue will disappear when you reach the top of the mountain and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. In addition to the charming autumn colors, there are also some historic stone houses scattered on the top of Dadong Mountain. These stone houses were the summer homes of foreign missionaries in the past, adding a historical charm to this natural scenery. At the top of the mountain, you can overlook the Hong Kong International Airport and the surrounding islands, with a very broad view. The main route to Dadongshan is to start from Bogong'ao and climb up along the second section of the Phoenix Trail. Although this section of the journey is steep, the road condition is acceptable. Another route starts from Mui Wo, which is longer but with a relatively gentle slope. Whichever route you choose, it is recommended to wear comfortable hiking shoes and carry enough water and food. The beautiful sunset at Tai Tung Shan is a natural wonder unique to Hong Kong and is definitely worth your time and effort to experience in person.
