Brand-new Fanling On Lok Mun Street Playground opens

The newly revamped Fanling On Lok Mun Street Playground officially opened on April 12, offering citizens a variety of international-standard extreme sports facilities. The new playground spans over 3,800 square meters, with the extreme sports area covering approximately 1,600 square meters. It features bowl-shaped and street-style facilities suitable for players of different skill levels to practice tricks. Both the bowl-shaped and street-style facilities have been certified by the World Skate Federation, meeting international standards. The site was designed and constructed by the Civil Engineering and Development Department and is managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD). The original On Lok Mun Street Playground was demolished in February 2023 to facilitate the Fanling Bypass (Eastern Section) project. The new playground is located about 150 meters north of the original site, with its entrance on Sha Tau Kok Road, Lung Yeuk Tau section, near the North District Temporary Agricultural Products Wholesale Market. In addition to extreme sports facilities, the playground also provides amenities such as restrooms, changing rooms, shaded areas, and park benches. The playground is open daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The opening hours of the extreme sports area may be adjusted depending on weather conditions. The extreme sports area is closed for regular maintenance on the first and third Monday of each month from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Visitors can reach the playground by taking a minibus to Luen Wo Hui and Mun Street Minibus Terminal, then walking about 10 minutes via the Luen Wo Hui Community Hall, or by taking a bus or minibus to Lung Yeuk Tau and walking about five minutes to the site.
