2-Day Trip to Tung Chung: Tai O and Ngong Ping.

On December 13th and 14th, I visited Tung Chung to explore, eat, and stay. In the morning, I first went to the Tung Chung Bus Terminal and took bus number 11 to Tai O. The ride took about 45 minutes, with a fare of $13.4 from Monday to Saturday and $22.3 on holidays 😱. In Tai O, I saw the unique stilt houses built on the water and tried some local snacks like sugar donuts, shrimp and pork patties, grilled chicken bladder fish, and grilled squid. In the afternoon, I checked into the Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel, staying on the 15th floor with views of the surrounding buildings, the hotel's pool, and a nearby construction site 😕. There was some noise during the day, but it was acceptable. The room and bathroom were clean and tidy. In the evening, I went to Golden Thai Restaurant next to North Lantau Hospital for Thai food. All seating was outdoors, so the dishes got cold quickly in winter, but the taste was OK 🤤. Five dishes cost $1000. The next day, I had breakfast at a restaurant opposite the hotel, with several options to choose from. After breakfast, I checked out and took bus number 23 to Ngong Ping. The fare was $19.6 from Monday to Saturday and $33.9 on holidays, quite a difference! 😱 In Ngong Ping Village, there were many cute panda dolls 🥰 and I visited the Po Lin Monastery. In the afternoon, I went to Citygate Outlets to shop and eat, where there was a Christmas market with live singing performances.
