Hidden Gem Bar and Restaurant Ciclo in Causeway Bay

Recently, I went shopping at Times Square in Causeway Bay and stumbled upon a hidden gem of a bar and restaurant called Ciclo. As soon as the elevator doors opened, I was greeted by a great atmosphere. Initially, I thought it was just a bar with light snacks, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a variety of main courses that were absolutely delightful upon trying. Scallop Carpaccio $168 Fresh and sweet scallop sashimi sliced thinly, paired with a tangy and sweet sauce and salmon roe, making it a refreshing and appetizing dish. Uni Lobster Bisque Arancini $228 Lobster saffron risotto mixed with cheddar cheese and sour cream, formed into rice balls and fried. Topped with a generous amount of sea urchin, this dish is rich in umami and has a complex flavor profile. The presentation is also very appealing. Yellow Chicken Roll with Cauliflower Mimolette $268 A surprising dish! You wouldn't expect a Western-style bar and restaurant to use yellow chicken to make chicken rolls! Topped with scallion oil and cauliflower rosemary foam, the dish is savory without being greasy. Served with thyme oil-fried bread crumbs, it can be considered a handcrafted dish. Crispy Short Rib $268 A must-try recommendation! Usually, short ribs are lightly seared, but here, the short ribs are seared to a crispy exterior, adding a charred aroma to the beef flavor. The sweet and sour hawthorn sauce balances the richness, and the buttery mashed potatoes at the base make it both flavorful and filling. Coffee Negroni $128 A gin-based cocktail with coffee-flavored Campari and sweet vermouth, offering a sip that combines the rich aroma of coffee with the sweetness of the alcohol. BAO GUK $128 A rum-based cocktail with pineapple juice, chamomile, and apple juice, offering a refreshing blend of fruity and tea flavors that's easy to drink. This place may look like a bar with a great ambiance, but besides the excellent cocktails, the food pairings and cooking are also outstanding!
