Heart of Central Vietnam: DaNang and HoiAn 🏮

DaNang is a big bustling city in the middle part of Vietnam but all the charms are only 40min away from it, the city of lanterns: HoiAn 🏮. Da Nang (Day 1) 🏙️ Start your day by visiting the Marble Mountains, a cluster of five limestone and marble hills. Climb up Water Mountain (Thuy Son) to explore the caves, grottoes, and Buddhist pagodas, and enjoy the panoramic views. Next, head to the Son Tra Peninsula to see the Lady Buddha (Linh Ung Pagoda), a towering 67-meter statue overlooking the sea. Spend the afternoon relaxing or swimming at My Khe Beach, one of Vietnam's most famous beaches. As evening approaches, walk along the Han River waterfront. End your day by watching the Dragon Bridge light up. If it's a weekend night (Friday/Saturday/Sunday), stay to see it breathe fire and water around 9:00 PM. Hoi An (Day 2 & 3) 🏮 Day 2: Ancient Town Immersion Dedicate your first day entirely to the Hoi An Ancient Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Wander through the yellow-walled streets, stopping to see key historical sites with your ticket, such as the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Fujian Assembly Hall, and the Old House of Tan Ky. Consider getting some custom clothes made by one of the town's famous tailors in the afternoon. In the evening, the town transforms with thousands of colorful lanterns. Enjoy dinner and then take a scenic lantern boat ride on the Thu Bon River, or release a flower lantern onto the water. Day 3: Countryside and Culinary Start your second Hoi An day with an excursion outside the Old Town. You have two excellent options: either an early morning tour to the My Son Sanctuary, an ancient cluster of abandoned Hindu temples of the Champa Kingdom, or a ride out to the countryside for a fun basket boat ride in the coconut forests. Afterward, head to An Bang Beach for lunch and a relaxing afternoon swim or sunbathe. Wrap up your two days by diving into local cuisine; consider taking a Vietnamese cooking class to learn how to make regional specialties like Cao Lầu and Mì Quảng, or enjoy a final meal at the lively Hoi An Night Market.
