On the way to Heian Shrine from the exit of Sanjo Station on the Keihan Main Line, I was attracted by the name of the shrine flag opposite the traffic [Satisfaction Inari Shrine]. What a cute name. I like Inari Shrine because it is a red harvest-type prayer shrine, and it is particularly pleasing with the word "Satisfaction" added. Toyotomi Hideyoshi worshipped the Inari God and built Inari shrines everywhere to strengthen his goal of unifying the world. During the Bunroku period (around 1592), Hideyoshi was very satisfied with the completion of the unification and was named "Manzu Inarisha". There are many stories in this small shrine. The sacred tree that heals injuries and the rock god that brings good luck are both highlights.
