Exploring Saudi Arabia's World Heritage | Stay at the Old Qian Desert Art Palace

In Saudi Arabia Stayed deep in the desert at The Chedi Hegra Resort 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗱𝗶 𝗛𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮 Hegra is Saudi Arabia’s first site to be listed as a World Cultural Heritage site. Its history dates back to the 1st century AD, once the trading capital of the Nabataean Kingdom, and an important southern city. During the approximately seven centuries of Nabataean rule, Hegra flourished and developed. The hotel is the only one located within the Hegra site, designed by Milan’s top studio Gio Forma, skillfully revitalizing historic buildings such as the 1907 Hejaz Railway Station and Hegra Fort. A 700-meter art canopy connects past and present. The room we stayed in was renovated based on existing on-site buildings, incorporating original stone walls and historic architectural features, blending timeless craftsmanship with modern living experience. The hotel’s Prima Classe restaurant is located inside the historic train station. Inside the hotel, there are artworks like “The Silent Witnesses of History” made from repurposed abandoned rails, creating a strong artistic and cultural atmosphere, making us feel as if we were in a museum of history and art.
