Hanoi wonder - it’s over 1500 years old!

Tran Quoc Pagoda is the oldest Buddhist temple in Hanoi, dating back over 1,500 years. Originally built in the 6th century, it was initially located on the banks of the Red River before being moved to its current location on a small island in West Lake in the 17th century. I found fascinating the fact that The Bodhi tree at the pagoda is a cutting from the original tree in Bodh Gaya, India, where Buddha attained enlightenment. The area is easy to access, and won’t take much time to cover. But it’s a beautiful spot to learn more about the role of Buddhism in Vietnam. Come to appreciate the history behind it. The entrance is free, and everyone is welcome to visit it, only cover your shoulders and knees. #vietnamtrip
