Vietnam Museum of Ethnology

One of the places I enjoy taking my visitors to Hanoi is the Hanoi Museum of Ethnicity. Vietnam is similar to China in many ways, but Vietnam is also made up of various ethnic minorities. The Viet people, who are equivalent to the Han people of China, make up more than 80% of the population and there are a total of 54 ethnic minorities. They look similar to us, but they have different customs, languages, lifestyles, and personalities. When you go to the Hanoi Museum of Ethnicity, after the various indoor exhibitions, there is an exhibition hall of ethnic minority residences set up in the backyard. Here, you can experience the customs of various ethnic groups who build and live in different types of houses depending on the characteristics of their living areas. Among them, this facility with explicit depictions of genitals is a tomb. I can understand their desire to connect life and death as one.
