In order to avoid the crowds at the peak dining time, we dined at Takamatsuan, a hand-made soba noodle shop near Motsuji Temple. This shop uses thick black radish from Miyagi Prefecture, which is a native variety of radish and tastes a bit spicy like wasabi. But after mixing with the soba dipping sauce, it highlights the sweetness of the soba noodles, which is quite interesting! There is only one grandfather running the whole shop, and he does everything from reception to cooking, so you need to wait a while. But I think it is worth it.
