The Cathedral Cove Walk is the shortest walk to the cove and takes approximately 45 minutes. The trail winds along the cliff tops overlooking the stunning coastline, dropping steeply as it approaches the beach. Visitors can park at the Hahei Visitor Car Park (free) on Pā Road or the Cathedral Cove Gateway Car Park (charged) on Lees Road, from which you can walk or take a shuttle to the trail entrance on Grange Road. The nearest towns include Hahei (2km), Whitianga (35km) and Coromandel (54km). Arriving by sea For those who wish to get directly to the beach, Cathedral Cove Water Taxi(opens in new window) offers a return service from Hahei Beach to Cathedral Cove Beach, allowing visitors to stay in Cathedral Cove for an hour to enjoy the views. Boat and kayak tours(opens in new window) Boat and kayak tours depart from Hahei Beach and are also a great way to get around.
