Gwangju 2-night, 3-day travel itinerary

📍Travel Introduction: Spending two full days in Gwangju was relaxing and delightful. Even if you only have time for a 1-night, 2-day trip, it's worth visiting this city. Known as the sacred ground of democratization, it's hard to believe it has been labeled as a 'boring city.' I hope more foreigners come to explore it. 🚩Travel Route: On the first day, I arrived at Geumnam-ro and visited the May 18th Democratic Movement Archives and Jeonil Building. Even for those who aren't particularly interested in democratization, these places are worth seeing and experiencing. Then, I went to Dongmyeong-dong Café Street, enjoyed a café, had a meal, and visited an independent bookstore. On the second day, I had duck stew at Ori Street near Gwangju Station, then visited the May 18th National Cemetery and Mangwol-dong Cemetery for National and Democratic Martyrs. It's a 30-minute bus ride from downtown, but definitely worth the trip. I returned to Dongmyeong-dong for a tour of the Asia Culture Center, café street, meals, and another independent bookstore. On the third day, I explored the 1913 Market near Gwangju Songjeong Station in the morning before heading home. If the trip had coincided with the 3rd or 8th of the month, I would have visited the Five-Day Market as well. The exhibitions at the Asia Culture Center are all free, but I regret not having enough time to see them. 🏖️Landmarks: Everything related to the May 18th Movement 🚇Transportation: Since it's a city center, public transportation and taxis are convenient. 📷Photo Spots: Every shop in Dongmyeong-dong is picturesque and perfect for taking photos. 🍜Recommended Restaurants: There are many famous spots, including Yeongmyeong Gukbap, Yangdong Fried Chicken, Yeongmi Duck Stew, Mimiwon, and Park Soonja Nokdu House. 🏠Recommended Accommodations: While Airbnb and popular guesthouses are available, Seven Bricks Hotel near Gwangju Station is also a great choice. 💡Tips: Be prepared for how delicious the food is!
