Just a little way out of Seoul, the noise of the city center changes to the whisper of the forest. When I open the window slightly along the winding road, the scent of pine trees and the wind gently approach. The sunlight breaks through the leaves, and the desire to go somewhere naturally makes me look up at the sky. As my heart and speed slowly increase along the winding mountain road, I arrive at Namhansanseong. Under the old stone wall, in a landscape where time seems to have stopped, a warm smell tickles my nose. The traditional Korean table, where the soup deepens over a wood fire, is filled with sincerity from the fingertips, and the scent of acorn jelly, sesame oil, and the warmth of the soybean paste in a pot warms my insides. In a small bakery hidden beneath the mountain, freshly baked bread gives off steam. Neither sweet nor salty, Just the honest and warm taste of flour. The sunlight from the forest seeps through the crispy croissants, and the coffee resembles a gentle conversation.
