Squirrel Village by the River: A Delightful Spot for Acorn-Based Cuisine

Located in Namjong-myeon, Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi Province, Squirrel Village by the River offers dishes made primarily with acorns 🐿️. This place is not only known for its healthy meals but also for its garden where visitors can enjoy a refreshing walk while taking in the riverside breeze. Today, I tried their perilla seed kalguksu (knife-cut noodles). The noodles are made with a mix of acorn and buckwheat flour, giving them a unique texture. The savory perilla seed broth paired perfectly with the soft noodles, making for a satisfying meal. After the meal, I strolled through the garden to aid digestion, admiring the flowers and the expansive view of the Han River. The serene atmosphere made it feel like my digestion was happening naturally. Driving along the riverside road past Paldang Dam is another highlight. The cool river breeze, delicious food, and the opportunity to explore the garden make this spot a wonderful destination 🚙.
